Power, Love and Change in Relationships

January 25 2014 - January 27 2014

Dr. Ellen Schupbach, Dr. Max Schupbach

Moments of great disturbances and fragmentations in relationships are also key moments of innovation and creativity.  Deep Democracy brings facilitation and inner work methods to relationships for discovery of inherent change, mutual empowerment and deeper connections. In moments that relationships and teams change their outer forms, Deep Democracy facilitation brings inner balance and clarity to the process, creating new beginnings.

This 2 day workshop  focuses on facilitating relationships, including our own, during periods of change and conflict. Growth in relationships, teams and organizations emerges first as disturbance and conflict, and threatens the status quo. Deep Democracy shows new methods to focus on the emerging wisdom in disturbances, and to coach ourselves and our relationship partners through periods of challenge. In these processes, we can discover our own power, and use it to facilitate the growth of our relationships and teams to become more flexible, more differentiated and therefor more vibrant.

We will introduce aspects of complexity theory and non-linear dynamics, and show how these concepts can be used to empower us to be more ourselves while remaining related to those around us, and to deepen our relationships. Arnold Mindell’s Quantum Mind concept is very useful in showing how individuals and their inner experiences are strangely linked, and how a system mind, or process mind, ultimately creates novelty and rejuvenation through polarization and conflict.

We will work on the following themes

- Power, courage and the structure of disturbance: inner work, complexity and creativity for moving beyond edges in relationships

- Innovation and Connection: facilitating disturbances towards radical change within timeless connections.

- Moved by the future: New Love and New Beginnings. How to discover yourself, your partner and your team anew and new ways to drop your personal history and old gripes :-) .
